Best Holster for a SIG P320: Full-Size, Compact, and Carry Setups

By Badass Holster Co. · November 4, 2026 · Veteran-owned gear guides

The P320 is not one pistol. It is a chassis system with a dozen frame and slide combinations wearing the same name. That is the single most important thing to understand before you buy a holster for one.

Why the P320 confuses holster buying

The serialized part is the fire control unit, not the frame. You can move that chassis between grip modules and slides. That is excellent for ownership and terrible for the assumption that "a P320 holster" is a thing.

In practice, three dimensions decide whether a holster fits:

Buy rule: spec the holster to your exact slide length and grip module, then add optic and light cut. Never buy off "P320" alone.

What to look for

1. Slide-length correct body

A full-size 4.7-inch slide will not seat in a compact holster. A compact slide will rattle in a full-size body. Get this right first.

2. Optic cut that clears the housing

Many P320s run an RMR-footprint optic or a Romeo. The cut has to clear the optic hood and prevent contact through the draw. A pinched optic loses zero.

3. Full trigger guard coverage

The P320's trigger is one of the most scrutinized in the industry. Complete enclosure isn't negotiable, and it isn't a marketing point. It is the only thing between the trigger and everything else in your waistband.

4. Light-bearing option if you carry a light

A TLR-1 or X300 changes the holster completely. Holsters are cut to the light body, so a TLR-7 holster will not accept a TLR-1 — and the P320's rail makes the X300/TLR-1 combination very common.

5. Belt compatibility

A loaded P320 with 17 rounds is a full-size weight package. A real gun belt and wide attachment points are the difference between a stable rig and one that rotates all day.

Common P320 carry builds

BuildSlideGripCarry verdict
P320 Compact3.9"CompactGood all-rounder with a cant
P320 X-Carry3.9"CarryExcellent — most concealable P320
P320 Full / X-Full4.7"FullOWB, cold weather, duty
P320 X-Compact3.6"CompactBest concealment of the family

The X-Carry is the sweet spot for most concealed carriers: full grip, shorter slide, and a flat trigger that most shooters want.

Carrying a P320 with a red dot

The P320 was an early optic-ready platform, and many are carried with a dot. Two things to verify: the holster clears the optic without contact, and the optic does not foul your cover garment on the draw. An optic adds height near the belt line, which is exactly where printing starts.

A note on model differences

The P320, M17, and M18 differ in slide length and frame. Confirm the holster lists your exact variant. If you have swapped grip modules since buying the holster, re-test retention — the frame profile is what the holster grips.

Common questions

Will a P320 holster fit all P320 models?

No. The P320 family spans several slide lengths and grip module sizes. Buy for your exact slide length and grip module, then add optic and light cuts.

Will a P320 holster fit a P365?

No. The P365 is a much smaller micro-compact with a different slide and frame profile.

Can I carry a P320 with a red dot?

Yes, with an optic-cut holster that clears the optic without contact. Make sure the cut is specific to your optic footprint rather than a generic open-slide relief.

Does changing grip modules affect holster fit?

Yes. The holster grips the frame, so swapping a compact module for a carry or full-size one changes fit and retention. Re-test after any swap.

What is the best P320 model for concealed carry?

The P320 X-Compact and X-Carry conceal best. They retain the grip and trigger the platform is known for while using a shorter slide than the full-size models.
